About us

Deeply rooted in the scientific community

The research agenda

Our roots date back to 2003, when Prof. Dr. Roman Schnabel embarked on a mission to develop the world's first laser that could generate light with squeezed quantum uncertainty.

This breakthrough technology was specifically designed for use in gravity wave detectors, which are used to detect the tiniest ripples in space-time caused by massive cosmic events like supernovas or black hole collisions.

Improving design and performance

The idea to spin off a company

The team spent over a decade working in their laboratory to perfect the laser's design and performance, enabling it to operate stably and efficiently for long periods of time.

In 2020, the team launched the project to spin-off a company, allowing them to focus fully on commercializing their groundbreaking technology.
